As reported, Jim Johnston, WWE’s long-time composer, has been released from the company. Johnston had been working for WWE for over 30 years and composed some of the company’s most iconic theme songs.
In an update on Jim Johnston’s WWE departure, the parting of ways was not mutual. According to sources, Jim Johnston’s WWE contract was up and the company opted not to renew his deal. It should be noted that Jim Johnston apparently did want to stay on board. There is speculation that the WWE Music Group’s General Manager, Neil Lawi, wanted CF0$’s John Alicastro and Michael Lauri to helm the music department for the company. Of course, this likely played a role in Jim Johnston’s WWE departure.
