Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting that there is some concern backstage in WWE over the WrestleMania 34 main event between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. In light of recent steroid ring allegations against Roman Reigns, WWE needs a backup plan in case the accusations against Roman Reigns are serious.
There is also some concern with Brock Lesnar, who not only no-showed on Raw last night for no apparent reason, but has also been mentioned by filmmaker Jon Bravo who is documenting the steroid ring bust. Brock Lesnar was hashtagged in an Instagram post from Jon Bravo saying that more WWE wrestlers, both past and present, are involved in the scandal. Dave Meltzer stated that Braun Strowman’s WrestleMania schedule is being kept open in case he needs to be added to the match:
“I don’t know if they are going to go with Strowman and Reigns with Brock Lesnar but if something happens with Lesnar, obviously Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman is the only match that you could put in that spot.
“If something happens with Roman Reigns and something still could, Strowman is also the only other guy you could put in that spot as well. There is concern about Roman Reigns for sure but right now the idea is that he’s the main event at WrestleMania. There is a Braun Strowman back up plan clearly in place.”
If Braun Strowman isn’t needed, however, he will likely feud with Elias at WrestleMania 34 instead:
“They could go with Strowman vs. Elias, if they have Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.”
